THE STORY OF THE FOUNDATION

1975 THE FIRST GENERAL CATALOGUE

The first general catalogue of Piero Manzoni, edited by Germano Celant, was published by Prearo Editore.

While it could not yet be considered to be complete, the catalogue provided the first overview of Piero Manzoni’s oeuvre. Illustrated exclusively with black and white photographs, the book featured an extensive text by Germano Celant, divided into chapters, a selection of writings by the artist and the register of works “ordered chronologically by groups, determined by type” and the appendices with exhibitions and bibliography. It was printed in 3,000 copies, with a further 50 reserved for the publisher.
