2013-2014 THE DOCUMENTARY ABOUT MANZONI

Featuring the first-hand recollections of friends, family and fellow artists who knew and frequented him, Piero Manzoni, artista (Piero Manzoni, Artist) aimed to reconstruct the figure of the man, highlight his artistic career through his works and unfinished projects and explore the secret of his incredible currency. The film drew on the words of contemporary figures of international fame and extensive printed and audio-visual archive materials.

Piero Manzoni, artista (Piero Manzoni, Artist) was previewed at the Gallerie d’Italia in Milan on 21 November 2013.

In October 2014, it was presented in a prime slot at the 19th Festival Internazionale ArteCinema in Naples, curated by Laura Trisorio.

Over the following years the film was in competition at the prestigious Festival International du film sur l’art in Montreal and at the 14th Festival Internazionale del Cinema d’Arte in Milan. Among the many screenings, mention should be made of those at New York University and at the Italian embassy in Washington. A DVD was produced and distributed by Cinehollywood.
