THE STORY OF THE FOUNDATION
2010 PIERO AT THE MUSEO DEL NOVECENTO AND LEGAL VICTORIES
The Museo del Novecento’s collection was assembled thanks to the generosity of Milan collectors and incorporates part of the Boschi Di Stefano Collection. The room devoted to Piero features two works on long-term loans from the Foundation: Merda d’artista n. 80 (Artist’s Shit No. 80) and Linea m 19,32 (Line 19.32 Meters Long).
Five cases were closed in 2010, with no less than nine works being declared as fakes: five with cotton wool, two with stones and two creased canvases. Two of these were ordered to be destroyed. In two cases the defendant decided to take the case to the Court of Appeal, but the sentences were to be confirmed in the years that followed.
The Foundation’s complex and painstaking legal work continues to bear fruit…
